CAMDEN — At the recent Awards Night of Camden Hills Regional High School, West Bay Rotary awarded scholarships to graduates Matalin Luce and Rory Carlson. Luce will be attending Hawaii Pacific University and Carlson will be attending the Maine Maritime Academy.
West Bay Rotary also awarded scholarships to CHRHS post-graduates Rowan Hurlburt, who attends the University of Maine at Orono majoring in Engineering, and Tysen DeWaard, who attends Northeastern University majoring in Pre-Med/Biology.
Additionally, West Bay Rotary awarded eight scholarships to CHRHS current year graduates and post-graduates from the Frances Perry and Cynthia Gushee Trusts. West Bay administers the scholarship selection process for the two trusts on behalf of CHRHS.
West Bay Rotary is celebrating its 37th year of manifesting its mission of “service above self” here in the Midcoast. The club undertakes dozens of community projects as well as fundraising (and “fun-raising”) events, including its annual “Duck Derby,” Chili Challenge, Toboggan Nationals parking, and more. The door for prospective members is always open. The club meets on Thursday mornings from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., currently both in-person and via Zoom.
